Re: Chairman's statement

Interview with Dan Martin doesn't really add much. It just says the clubs planning consultants have "reached out" to the council. Taken together with the update statement there is still not much to go on here. Hard to gauge how likely this is to move forward but given council's response it...

As you were, really.
Yes. Very little news here. No extra information on key questions. Still very early in planning process.

All the questions I had before still there.

Re: Chairman's statement

Lots of good issues being raised here. My sense from here, and chatting to fans generally is that there is massive support for the idea of moving back to Underhill but after the excitement of the initial announcement the council statement has dampened expectations. At the moment there isn't a huge a...

Tuesds- what's the issue with land use? I might have misunderstood what you meant here.

Re: Chairman's statement

Doesn’t this involve building over the school’s playing fields? Or does the school not use that area? If it does, is it intended that the pupils will instead either use the proposed MUGA cages or walk a lot further and take their chances on Barnet Playing Fields? Unless I’ve missed something obviou...

Re: Chairman's statement

I don't think it proves TK has "the means" to move back to Barnet. I think at best it shows he *wants* to move back. To make moving back a reality the club needs 3 things 1) Planning permission to build a stadium 2) Ownership of the land it wants to build on 3) Money to build the stadium. ...

Re: Chairman's statement

It may be their official line. It may however be completely made up. Yep. Without a name it lacks any credibility. This is nonsense. Firstly, the Evening Standard is not going to “make up” quotes attributed to an official spokesperson for Barnet Council. Secondly, as others have said, it is normal ...

Re: Chairman's statement

] So the journalist rang Barnet Council and got that quote, but didn't get his name? Without a name, this is a non story, click bate article and should be treated as such. That's not how a press office works- if you contact a press office for comment and they give you one it usually gets reported a...

Re: Chairman's statement

The Evening Stnadard article was not an encouraging read. Council came across as very sceptical to put it mildly. As others have said- if an article uses the term "Council spokesperson" that means it's an official response: journalist contacts press office, asks for comment on behalf of th...

Re: Chairman's statement

Well that was rather unexpected wasn't it! Lots of thoughts and emotions running through my head- first and foremost, wouldn't it be amazing to be back at Underhill. What was really striking was the change of language- calling the Hive "10 years exile in Harrow" was something the club had ...

Re: Chesterfield (A) The Chester Way I'm Fielding Match Thread

Sad to hear about the stuff going on on the coach. I feel for the BFCSA here- they have made the effort to put on a coach, and have ended up with a lot of aggravation, people saying they wouldn't get a coach again, and probably a hefty surcharge from the coach company, not to mention reduced likelih...

Re: Boredom Hoof (Hive) The Play Hoof Eliminator Match Thread

Absolutely astonishing decision to even contemplate appointing Middleton. Given that Brennan had publically criticised him and doubtless gave him a very low rating, I cannot seriously believe he could be considered to referee a game given his previous issues. I believe clubs can object to a referee ...

Re: Maidstone United (Away) The Hakan Hope Match Thread

I don't think the Trophy run has *up to now* had much effect on our league form. There are no league fixtures scheduled on FA Trophy days, so up to now we have only had two league games postponed due to our involvement in the trophy (the Home game v Oldham which was scheduled for 11th Feb, and repla...

Re: BFCSA WhatsApp group

I think that sounds sensible. Get renewals in before end of season for the reasons you say. And that sounds about the right price point. Only possible objection might be we may not know which division we are playing in next season! But TBH could be good touch from the club to allow early renewals to...
